Mindful Therapy LLC specializes in the following methods and approaches.

(EMDR)

Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR) therapy is an extensively researched, effective psychotherapy method proven to help people recover from trauma and other distressing life experiences, including PTSD, anxiety, depression, and panic disorders.

EMDR therapy does not require talking in detail about the distressing issue or completing homework between sessions. EMDR therapy, rather than focusing on changing the emotions, thoughts, or behaviors resulting from the distressing issue, allows the brain to resume its natural healing process.

EMDR therapy is designed to resolve unprocessed traumatic memories in the brain. For many clients, EMDR therapy can be completed in fewer sessions than other
psychotherapies.

(EFT)

Emotionally Focused Therapy (EFT) is a well-known humanistic approach to psychotherapy formulated in the 1980’s and developed in tandem with the science of adult attachment, a profound developmental theory of personality and intimate relationships. This science has expanded our understanding of individual dysfunction and health as well as the nature of love relationships and family bonds. Attachment views human beings as innately relational, social and wired for intimate bonding with others. The EFT model prioritizes emotion and emotional regulation as the key organizing agents in individual experience and key relationship interactions.

IFS Informed EMDR

Internal Family Systems (IFS) informed EMDR is an advanced training that uses both modalities to address and heal Complex trauma. This model works with the client’s parts, and utilizes bilateral stimulation (BLS) and EMDR techniques to help un-blend and integrate parts in a new and healthy way.

Mindfulness

Mindfulness, from a therapeutic, secular perspective is a conscious awareness of our present moment. This includes openness and non-judgment about the experience. It is often coupled with other types of therapy, such as Cognitive-based Therapy (CBT), Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), or Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT).

Mindfulness therapy is not concerned with relaxation, though that might be a result of certain practices. The focus is on increasing our awareness of the thoughts, feelings, and actions that hinder our progress. When we are better able to do that, we can engage with those aspects of ourselves, learn to tweak our language, and choose how to respond.

Alchemical Hypnotherapy

Alchemical Hypnosis is about helping clients find the inner healing resources within the subconscious mind and teaching them to work with these powerful resources every day to solve their problems.

The key to Alchemical Hypnosis lies in its ability to heal our deepest wounds and unlike other forms of hypnosis, it works with all aspects of our being: physical, emotional, mental and spiritual. Alchemical Hypnosis does not render you unconscious rather it enables you to explore your inner world, and through the gentle guidance of the hypnotist, it provides intense and lasting release from adverse physical and emotional conditions.

(CBT)

Cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT) is a type of psychotherapeutic treatment that helps people learn how to identify and change destructive or disturbing thought patterns that have a negative influence on behavior and emotions.

Cognitive-behavioral therapy focuses on changing the automatic negative thoughts that can contribute to and worsen emotional difficulties, depression, and anxiety. These spontaneous negative thoughts have a detrimental influence on mood.

Through CBT, these thoughts are identified, challenged, and replaced with more objective, realistic thoughts.
